Mr. Wilcox was in a critical condition from bright's disease when removed to Sheridan. The disease had gained such a strong hold that medical skill and good nursing could not stay the hand of death. His relatives were summoned to his bedside before the final call came to him. Undertaker Olson prepared the body for burial and removed it to the home of his sister, Mrs. Dan Bock, near Laurin, where the funeral was held Saturday afternoon, Rev. Franklin Gibson conducting the service. Deceased was 42 years of age and a native of Madison county. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Wilcox, were among the early settlers of the county. Friends in Alder were saddened to learn of the death of Ray Wilcox, which occurred at the Grose hospital in Sheridan on Thursday night. Ray Wilcox was born on a ranch just south of Alder 41 years ago and spent his entire life in Madison county excepting the past two years, much of which was spent in Butte. Ray was a strong, well built man, very industrious and faithful to his work to a degree seldom seen in young men of the present day. But few years ago he looked to have health that would take him through to old age. During the past year his health failed and the end was not unexpected. Sincere sympathy is extended to the surviving relatives. A number of Alder residents went to Sheridan Saturday to attend the funeral of Ray Wilcox.
