He died of a heart attack, suffered about 7:15 a.m. at his farm home, southwest of Clyde. Ray was a farmer, and also drove one of the school buses. His pleasing personality, his neighborliness and hard work had brought him many friends, and he was highly respected in our community. He is survived by his wife, the former Yvonne Cailteux, and one daughter, Leda Rae, a senior in the Clyde Rural High school and by his folks, Mr. and Mrs. Pete Racette; four sisters; Mrs. Ed Schumaker, Clifton, Mrs. Bernard Hebert and Mrs. Delbert Brewster, Wichita, and Mrs. Duane Kerns, Reno, Nevada; two half-sisters, Mrs. Bob Wilson and Shirley Racette of Clyde; and one half-brother, Bob Racette of Clyde. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with interment in the Mt. Calvary cemetery. Relatives have the sincere sympathy of many friends in their bereavement. Clyde RHS Mourns a Real Friend Clyde Rural High School lost a good friend and a good worker in the passing of Ray Racette. Ray will be missed by all the students and faculty, as he was a friend to all of us. Ray's bus was the one used most to take teams, the Pep Club, or other groups to school activities out of town. Ray was always cheerful and accommodating and was popular with everyone connected with the school. All of us extend our sympathy to Ray's family, and say again, we will miss him.
