It is entirely possible that the 1845 inscription date was an engraving error that, once engraved, could not be "fixed" without damage to the full monument, so left as is. NOBLE FREDERICK DIED LAST NIGHT Mrs. Noble Frederick passed away last night at the home of her daughter Mrs. Allen Macy twelve miles north of the city. She had been ill for the past seven weeks with calitis. Rebecca G. McDonald (sic) was the daughter of James and Rebecca O'Donald (sic) and was born in London, England, June 20th, 1842, being at the time of her death 76 years, four months and 14 days old (sic. which can also calculate out to June 18, 1842). In March, 1860 (sic. or Feb. 24 or 28, 1859), she was united in marriage to Noble Frederick and to this union were born two children (sic. actually five were born), who with the husband survive. They are Mrs. Allen Macey (sic. Allen Macy) of this city and Hubert Frederick of Oskaloosa. The funeral services will be held tomorrow at two o'clock in the yard at the Macey (sic. Macy) residence in charge of Rev. Spaulding and burial will be in the Antioch cemetery. ------------------ Fairfield Tribune Nov. 8, 1918 FREDERICK. Rebecca G. O'Donall (sic) was born in London, England, June 20, 1842 (sic. see notes above), and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Allen Macy, Nov. 1, 1918, aged 76 years 4 months and 11 days. She came to this country with her parents and three brothers, when seven years of age. She was married to Noble Frederick February 28, 1859 (sic. see Fairfield Ledger obituary for alternative marriage dates). To this union were born five children, Alice, Mrs. Allen Macy of Pleasant Plain, Iowa; Mary; Hubert J. of Oskaloosa, Iowa,and Allen Clyde of Des Moines, Iowa. Alice and Mary preceded her in death (sic. don't know when Mary was born and died). There remains to mourn her loss her husband, one daughter, two sons, ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, one brother, Fred O'Donall (sic) of Dubuque, Ia., besides a host of friends. She was one of the oldest members of the Antioch church. She was a true follower of her Lord and a faithful member of the church. During her illness she often expressed herself as ready and anxious to die. Never complained, always patient through her suffering. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Spaulding. Interment in the Antioch cemetery.
