Description	:	WINSLOW -- Reginald J. Huard, 84, passed away on Aug. 25, 2009. He was born in Winslow on Oct. 24, 1924, son of the late Louis and Helene (Turgeon) Huard. A lifelong resident of Winslow, he was educated in Winslow schools and studied business administration at the University of Maine in Augusta. Huard, 84, passed away on Aug. 25, 2009. He was born in Winslow on Oct. 24, 1924, son of the late Louis and Helene (Turgeon) Huard. A lifelong resident of Winslow, he was educated in Winslow schools and studied business administration at the University of Maine in Augusta. While a young man, he graduated from Midland Radio School, a subsidiary of the University of Georgia in Athens, Ga. Mr. Huard served his country in the Army during World War II, seeing action on the beaches of Normandy at the age of 18. He earned three Battle Stars, taking part in the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Huard was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Winslow and the American Legion Post 5 in Waterville. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Alice M. Huard; his daughter, Ann Chapman of Fairfield, and grandson Aaron Chapman; seven brothers, Lucien and his wife, Evangeline, of Paramount, Calif., Wallace and his wife, Lily, of Whittier, Calif., Gerald and his wife, Gladys, of Banning, Calif., Fernand and his wife, Violet, of Winslow, Joseph Perley of California, Leonel and his wife, Angela, of Winslow, and Louis Jr. and his wife, Linda, of Winslow; three sisters, Germaine Mathieu of Waterville, Anita Michaud of Pico Rivera, Calif., and Elizabeth Withee and her husband, Harold, of Winslow; brother-in-law Robert Lacombe of Sun Lakes, Ariz., Juliette Libby of Chula Vista, Calif., and Jane Huard of Downey, Calif. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews and several cousins. Reginald was predeceased by four sons and four daughters who died in infancy from premature births: Marie Regina, Ange Marie, Celeste, Reginald Joseph, Marie Celina, John, an infant son and Jonathan. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Winslow. Committal will follow at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery in Waterville.
