Retta was the only daughter of Calvin and Annie Franks Davidson, born June 21, 1875, at the Davidson home near Glasco, where she lived until eleven years ago when she came to town to make her home with her brother, Joe, after the death of Mrs. Davidson. There she was a kind and faithful companion to Mrs. W.A. Hillhouse, the mother-in-law in the home, as well as to her brother. Retta's kind and always cheerful disposition made her a joy to meet and every acquaintance a friend. In June she received her 50-year membership pin from the Priscilla Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, of which she was an active member. She is the last charter member of the Sunflower Study Club, and was also a member of the Wednesday Night Study Club and various other organizations. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, W.A. Davidson of Simpson, and L.F. Davidson of Glasco, leaving to mourn her passing her brother, Joe, and two sisters-in-law, Arvilla and Lillian Davidson, all of Glasco. Also surviving are five nephews, four nieces, Mrs. W.A. Hillhouse, and a host of friends. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church Saturday afternoon, November 10, at 2:00 o'clock with the Rev. John Baker officiating. Pallbearers were Bryan Davidson, Paul Davidson, Don Davidson, Jay Cooper, Keith Davidson, and Clyde Soule. Interment was in Glasco cemetery, with McDonald Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
