Read More	Beatrice Daily Sun (NE) - Wednesday, November 17, 2004 Reuben H. Gottula, 85, Pawnee City, died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2004, at the Pawnee County Memorial Hospital in Pawnee City. He was born Aug. 20, 1919, at Elk Creek, the son of Edwin and Fredericka (Tegtmeier) Gottula, and lived with his family on the family farm for many years, later moving to Elk Creek after their farm home burned. He attended St. Peter's Parochial School and graduated from Elk Creek High School. He was united in marriage to Virginia Ribble on Jan. 24, 1954, at the St. Peter's Lutheran Church. They made their home southwest of Elk Creek, where he farmed for many years, before retiring to Pawnee City in 1999. He was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. Due to illness, he entered the Pawnee Manor for a short time prior to his death. Survivors: wife, Virginia; son, Steven Gottula and wife Jean of Lincoln; daughter, Linda Moran and husband John of Lincoln; granddaughters, Tia Gottula of Johnson, and Ginny Heinrich and husband Jeff of Woodbury, Minn.; stepgrandchildren, Angie Barnes and husband Jaron of Lincoln, Lucus Meints of Lincoln; two great-grandsons; two stepgreat-granddaughters; sister, Ida Robison of Tecumseh; brother, Ivan Gottula and wife Hazel of Elk Creek; nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Irene Gottula of Bella Vista, Ark., and Eleanor Gottula of Tecumseh; brothers-in-law, Mel Housley and wife Juanita of Gig Harbor, Wash.; Don Housley and wife Edith of Silver Springs, Md. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Fredericka (Tegtmeier) Gottula; sisters, Erma Buethe and Elva Gottula; brothers, Eldon, Richard, Elmo, Vernon and Victor. Graveside memorial service: 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 19, St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, southwest of Elk Creek, the Rev. Robert Schermbeck officiating. A register book will be available for signatures at the Wherry Brothers Mortuary, Third and Jackson streets, Tecumseh, Thursday, Nov. 18, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Memorials may go to the family's choice. Wherry Brothers Mortuary, Tecumseh, in charge of arrangements.
