Description	:	TECUMSEH- Richard Carl Gottula, died March 7, 2001. He was born to Edwin and Fredericka (Tegtmeier) Gottula on August 17, 1906, rural Steinauer, Pawnee County, Nebraska. He was baptized on September 16, 1906 by Rev. Krueger at the Steinauer Ev. Reformed Church. Richard attended rural schools #75 and #30 in Pawnee County and St. Peter's Lutheran Parochial School. He was confirmed in the Christian faith at St. Peter's Lutheran Church by Rev. H.F. Grupe on April 10, 1921. Richard was married to Eleanor Peters on October 4, 1934 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church by Rev. Iddo C. Heinicke. To this union two daughters were born, Janice and Judy. Richard and Eleanor were members at St. Peter's Lutheran until they transferred their membership to St. John's Lutheran when they moved to Tecumseh. They lived in Pawnee County Clear Creek Precinct and later moved to the Table Rock area where he farmed and raised livestock, until retiring in 1978 and moving to Tecumseh. Richard received care at Belle Terrace for the past four years. He passed away there, having reached the age of 94 years, 6 months and 20 days. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters; Elva Gottula and Irma Buethe and brothers; Elmo, Vernon, Victor and Eldon. He is survived by his wife Eleanor of Tecumseh; daughters; Janice Covault and husband LeRoy and Judy Helberg and husband Rodney of Lincoln; three grandchildren: Curtis and Brian Covault and Lisa Moriarty and husband Brent; one great-grandchild, Emma; sister Ida Robison of Tecumseh and brothers: Ruben Gottula and wife Virginia of Pawnee City, Ivan Gottula and wife Hazel of Elk Creek, and nieces and nephews.
