Description	:	DOBSON, NC ~ On Friday, Jan. 13, 2006, the Rev. Roger Lee Robertson, 68, passed away at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, with his loving wife, Linda, by his bedside. Roger was born on Dec. 11, 1942, to Rufus and Daisy Robertson of Dobson. Preceding him in death were his father, Rufus Columbus Robertson, who passed away on March 11, 1961; and his sister, Hilda Bowman, who passed away on Aug. 22, 2001. Read More	DOBSON, NC ~ On Friday, Jan. 13, 2006, the Rev. Roger Lee Robertson, 68, passed away at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, with his loving wife, Linda, by his bedside. Roger was born on Dec. 11, 1942, to Rufus and Daisy Robertson of Dobson. Preceding him in death were his father, Rufus Columbus Robertson, who passed away on March 11, 1961; and his sister, Hilda Bowman, who passed away on Aug. 22, 2001. On Dec. 4, 1962, Roger was married to Linda Kay Johnson of Hanes. This union was blessed with wonderful children, Gary, Tommy and Diana. For many years, Roger was an ordained minister in the Western Pentecostal Holiness Conference and was the former pastor in Vesta, Va., serving at Pentecostal Holiness Church in Vesta for nine years. He was a truck driver for Hardy Brothers and retired on Nov. 11, 2005. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Linda, of 43 years; his three children and their spouses, Gary and Robin Robertson of Dobson, Tammy and Neil Wilmoth of Dobson and Diana and Cline Bryant of Meadows of Dan, Va.; eight wonderful special grandchildren, Paul, Kala and Dana Robertson, Jonathan and Alex Wilmoth and Chelsea, Austin and Chandler Bryant; his mother, Daisy Robertson Smith, of Dobson; and surviving siblings J.C. and Jean Robertson, Rachel and Bruce Parks, Rhenda and James Shumate, Rhonda and Larry Quesinberry, Ronnie and Kathy Robertson, Curtis and Sherry Robertson, Bobby Robertson, Teresa and Dean Southard, Charles and Kelly Hembree, Dale Hembree and Dean and Gail Hembree. Many lives were touched through his ministry, and he will be greatly missed by all those who knew him. But as he always said, "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." "Go rest high on that mountain, Son, your work on earth is done. Go to Heaven a shouting, look for the Father and the Son." The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today, Jan. 14, at Moody-Davis Funeral Home of Dobson, where his body will remain until time to be taken to King Christian Center in King to lie in state 30 minutes before the funeral service at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 15.
