Description	:	Richard 'Dick' Alan Bean, 79, of Lexington Park died Dec. 10, 2004, in his home. Born Jan. 23, 1925, in Great Mills, Md., he was the youngest son of Dr.& Mrs. Philip J. Bean. He is survived by his wife, Agnes Cullison Bean, whom he married on June 28, 1947, in Great Mills, Md., by his children Mary Bean Hollinger of Huntingtown, Md., Patricia B. Burgess of Dahlgren, Va., and Richard A. Bean of Galesville, Md., six grandchildren (Michael Burgess, Jessica Hollinger, Stephen Burgess, Heather Brooks, Erin Bean, and Chloe Bean) and two great-grandchildren (Jaycee and Tristan Hollinger). He is survived by his wife, Agnes Cullison Bean, whom he married on June 28, 1947, in Great Mills, Md., by his children Mary Bean Hollinger of Huntingtown, Md., Patricia B. Burgess of Dahlgren, Va., and Richard A. Bean of Galesville, Md., six grandchildren (Michael Burgess, Jessica Hollinger, Stephen Burgess, Heather Brooks, Erin Bean, and Chloe Bean) and two great-grandchildren (Jaycee and Tristan Hollinger). He is also survived by his brother Bernard Eugene Bean of Virginia Beach, Va. He was preceded in death by his brothers William Calvert Bean, Philip Goodrich Bean, and Joseph Arthur Bean. He graduated from Mount Saint Joseph High School, Catonsville, MD, in 1942. He enlisted in the Army Mar. 4, 1943, attending Lake Forest College in Illinois before being shipped overseas were he administered first aid in the Asiatic Pacific Theater of operations in two campaigns and one beachhead invasion. He was separated from the 3 Army in Nov 12, 1945, and retired from the Army National Guard as a 1st Sgt. with over 20 years of service. On June 27, 1947 he married Agnes Cullison and moved to Loveland, Co. where his two daughters were born. They returned to Great Mills in 1952 where he was a private contractor until joining the civil service in 1956. He worked as a planner/estimator for Public Works on the Patuxent Naval Air Station, where he retired after 30 years. He was the Financial Secretary of the St. Michael's Council No. 2065 of the Knights of Columbus for 25 years.
