Description	:	Valentine Newspaper (Valentine, Nebraska), February 23, 1978 Everett "Tin" Osburn Richard Everett "Tin" Osbourn (sic), son of Richard and Nancy Osburn was born at Sparks, Nebraska June 5, 1895 and grew to manhood in that Community. He was united in marriage to Alma Haley October 21, 1914. To this union five children were born, 3 sons and 2 daughters, Everette and Alma resided and farmed in the Sparks area until 1945 when they moved to Valentine where "Tin" engaged in the carpenter business. He was united in marriage to Alma Haley October 21, 1914. To this union five children were born, 3 sons and 2 daughters, Everette and Alma resided and farmed in the Sparks area until 1945 when they moved to Valentine where "Tin" engaged in the carpenter business. He was active in this until the past 6 years when he retired due to failing health. His many interest included music and he especially enjoyed playing the violin. As a young man he played baseball and in later years was interested in professional baseball, especially the World Series. He knew and enjoyed many, many people both young and old. In his 82 years he missed only 4 Old Settlers Reunion Picnics at Sparks and was always active in promoting the event. He was a faithful member of the Odd Fellow Lodge for 27 years and served in every office of the Lodge. Everett and Alma enjoyed many years of togetherness having celebrated their 63rd Wedding Anniversary last Oct. Everett passed away at his home Feb. 14, after being confined to his bed for 3 weeks. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers Frank, Wesley, Albert and Floyd, 1 sister Della Grooms, 1 daughter-in-law, 1 grandchild and 1 great granddaughter. He is survived by his wife Alma and his children Ervy and wife Mildred of Valentine, Zina Turner and husband Arlo of Valentine, Melvin and wife Edna of Phoenix, Arizona, Shirley Hahn and husband Johnnie of Osceola, Nebraska and Richard and wife Yuki of Travis Air Force Base in California. Also surviving are brothers Joe of Torrington, Wyoming and Carl of Woodburn, Oregon, 1 sister Sylvia Carlson of Riverside, California, 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. "Tin" as he was affectionally known will be missed by all those who were privileged to enjoy his sense of humor, his compassion and his friendship. Service were Feb. 18 at 2 P.M. at the United Methodist Church of Valintine. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery, Valentine.
