Description	:	Shirley M. Hahn, 79, of Osceola, formerly of Valentine and Oshkosh, died Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009, at Annie Jeffrey Memorial Health Center in Osceola. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church in Osceola with the Rev. Robert Perry officiating. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Mount Hope Cemetery in Valentine. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Dubus Funeral Home in Osceola. Mrs. Hahn was born Nov. 19, 1929, near Sparks, to Richard and Alma (Haley) Osburn. Her husband, John W. Hahn, preceded her death on May 13, 2006. Survivors of the immediate family include a daughter, Terri Hahn of Osceola, two brothers and three sisters-in-law, Mel Osburn of Sun City, Ariz., Richard and Yuki Osburn of Vacaville, Calif., and Barbara Colburn and Mae Hahn of Valentine; and a special niece, Sherry Murphy of Lincoln. Also left to cherish her memory are numerous nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. Shirley grew up in the Sparks area east of Valentine and attended school there until her family moved to Valentine in the 1940s. She graduated from Valentine High School in 1947. She married John W. Hahn on Sept. 27, 1947, in Valentine. They lived in Valentine until 1960, where Shirley worked as a bookkeeper and as a social worker for the welfare department, and their daughter, Terri, was born in 1958. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Osceola, the American Legion Auxiliary, Ryan Hill Country Club and the Nebraska Women's Bowling Association. In addition to her husband, Shirley was preceded in death by a brother, Ervy Osburn, a sister, Zina Turner, and a special niece, Darlene Burge. Memorials are suggested to the family.
