Read More	Richard LeRoy "Dick" McClymont Sr. of Holdrege, Nebraska passed away November 2, 2000 in Kearney, Nebraska. Dick was born July 1, 1918, on The George Rowland Homestead in Industry Township, Nebraska to Clyde and Hazel (Rowland) McClymont. Richard was a 1935 graduate of Holdrege, Nebraska High School and finished his education at the University of Nebraska in 1939. Richard worked for Eastern Airlines before joining the U.S. Army Air Corps and becoming a group commander during World War II, In August 1942, he married Anne Hart Hayes in Lake Charles, Louisiana After completion of his military service, they moved to Holdrege,Nebraska where he and his parents purchased Brown Implement Company and established McClymont Implement Company, A John Deere Dealership, in 1947. Richard was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church of Holdrege, Nebraska, past commander of the Holdrege American Legion, two-time president of the Holdrege, Nebraska Country Club, director of the Holdrege, Nebraska Chamber of Commerce and president of the Holdrege, Nebraska Industrial Development Corp., which was instrumental in bringing the Becton Dickinson plant to Holdrege, Nebraska. His ties to the NU athletics included serving as senior manager for the football team in 1939, serving as the first secretary and later as the president of the Nebraska Touchdown Club, and, in 1972, serving on the steering committee for the Devaney Center in Lincoln, Nebraska. He also had given grant-in-aid scholarships to the football team and had continued as a member of the N Club and Directors Club. Survivors are: daughters, Susan Deeds of Flagstaff, Arizona, Beth Christoff of Bakersfield, California, and Kaye Eulberg of Lincoln, Nebraska; sons, Richard L., Jr. and Ted McClymont both of Holdrege, Nebraska; brothers, J. Rowland and Phillip R. McClymont and wife Ann, both of Holdrege, Nebraska; and brother-in-law Richard K. Armstrong, of Minden, Nebraska. and a host of relatives and friends. Richard was preceded in death by: parents, wives Anne (Hayes) McClymont, and Carol L. Nicholson McClymont, son, George McClymont, in infancy, daughter, Patricia Anne McClymont, and sister Ruth (McClymont) Armstrong and sister-in-law Eleanor R. (Rogers) McClymont.
