He was born November 10, 1926 in Manchester, Ohio to the late Oscar Howell & Esta Francis. Bobby was the eldest son of nine children, also having two elder half-brothers and three elder half-sisters. Bobby was a lived in Manchester the majority of his life until his final years when he had to go into nursing care due to his declining mental & physical health. Read More	Robert Donald Howell known as "Bobby" passed away June 18, 2002 at Eagle Creek Nursing in West Union, Adams County, Ohio. He was born November 10, 1926 in Manchester, Ohio to the late Oscar Howell & Esta Francis. Bobby was the eldest son of nine children, also having two elder half-brothers and three elder half-sisters. Bobby was a lived in Manchester the majority of his life until his final years when he had to go into nursing care due to his declining mental & physical health. Bobby had furthered his education after high school and had studied horticulture. He tended bar at Hunter'so Tavern during his early life. During the 70's and 80's he lived in a small one room house on Jackson Street in Manchester that he rented from Opal Smith. He would grow a large bed of marigolds every year. Everyday he would walk down Jackson Street and visit with his sisters Martha Gray & Joyce Berry. He then would make his rounds through the center of Manchester, often chatting with those he encountered to hear & share the latest local news. He always ended up at his mother's home to visit with her & his sister, Carolyn. He would have breakfast, read the paper, and share any news he'd gotten on his walk there, before heading back home. In the 90's Bobby moved from Jackson Street to Fawn Haven Apartments in Manchester, Ohio. He resided here several years before his declining health made it necessary to go into nursing care. Bobby was a lifelong bachelor and never had children. He always showed great affection for his many nephews & nieces. Written by his nephew Jeff Berry August 10, 2021
