Read More	Robert Edwin Purnell Died On Friday Afternoon Robert Edwin Purnell, well-known resident of Crisfield, passed away Friday afternoon at his home on Maryland avenue from a complication of diseases. He had been in failing health for the past two years. He was seventy-three years old and had resided in Crisfield his entire life. Mr. Purnell was quite active and greatly interested in the seafood industry, until recent years when his heath began to fail. Prior to that he was the Seafood Inspector for the port of Crisfield. In that job, as well as in every day life, he was well-liked and popular, fulfilling his job conscientiously, honestly, and industriously. He was the son of the late Fisher Purnell and Nancy Hickman Purnell, a highly respected and prominent family of Crisfield. The deceased was twice married, his first wife being the former Miss Bertie Elliott. The wife of his second marriage, the former Miss Lena Curtis, survives him. Also he is survived by two sons, Mr. Weldon Purnell, an employee of Charles D. Briddell, Inc., and Percy J. Purnell, manager of Booths Fisheries Company, of Crisfield; two brothers, Mr. James Purnell, of Crisfield and Mr. Fletcher Purnell, who resides in New Jersey. Five grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were held from his late home on Maryland avenue Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m., with the Rev. C. M. Elderdice, pastor of Mt. Pleasant Church, in charge. Pall bearers were Frank W. Daugherty, Benjamin Sterling, James McLane, Charles H. Daugherty, Lloyd Sterling, Horace B. Ford. Interment was in the family plot of the Crisfield cemetery. The Crisfield Times June 25, 1937 pg.1
