He passed away on November 13, 2012 in Riverside, California, at the age of 74. Robert grew up in southwest Iowa and graduated from Malvern High School in 1955. Read More	Robert Eugene Irvin Robert Eugene Irvin, the eldest of three children of Cora Clara (Huntsman) and George Lee Irvin, was born on January 16, 1938. He passed away on November 13, 2012 in Riverside, California, at the age of 74. Robert grew up in southwest Iowa and graduated from Malvern High School in 1955. He and Janice Palser, of Hastings, Iowa, were married in 1957. They moved to Riverside, California in 1960. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Kellie and Michael. Robert served in the United States Army from 1961 to 1963. His work career was in the retail grocery business and Robert was employed with the Safeway/Vons Companies for 45years, starting with Safeway in Omaha, Nebraska in 1958. He continued his education at Riverside Community College in Riverside. Robert had an interest in all sports, played basketball and baseball in high school, was a high school basketball referee, and enjoyed playing golf. He and Janice enjoyed backpacking, traveling and gardening. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, George and Cora Irvin; and sister Dianna (Irvin) Novak. Robert is survived by his wife of 55 years, Janice Irvin of Riverside; daughter Kellie Maasa and husband Michael of Red Bluff, CA; son Michael Irvin of Lincoln, NE; grandchildren, Samantha and Robby Massa; brother Dean Irvin and wife Jolene of Fremont, NE; brother-in-law Jim Novak of Omaha, NE; aunt Betty Dilts of Sidney, IA; nieces, nephews and cousins; other relatives and many friends. Memorials to the American Cancer Society. Interment with Military Honors in the Malvern Cemetery.
