Fischer, native of Jefferson County and a Fairfield businessman, died at his hoe, 104 S. Third, Wednesday afternoon of an apparent heart attack. He was 70 years of age. Services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the First Christian Church with the Rev. Ed Dorman officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The casket will be taken from the Raymond Funeral Home to the church by 9 a.m. Saturday. Members of the family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday. Robert F. Fischer was born Feb. 8, 1877, in Fairfield. He was the son of Lawrence L. and Phoebe Farrell Fischer (sic). He was reared and educated in Jefferson County, attended the Fairfield High School and lived his entire life in this community. Fischer had farmed for a number of years before he opened the Fischer Real Estate firm in Fairfield which he operated for 15 years. Currently he was employed part time as a security guard. He was a member of First Christian Church, and was serving as Noble grand of IOOF Lodge No. 4. He was also a member of the Fairfield Square Dance Club and the Keep Young Club. His marriage to Midlred Hiatt took place Feb. 18, 1928 in Fairfield. She survives. Other survivors include one daughter, Virginia Schupick, Burlington; two sons, Richard of Burlington and Ronald of Fairfield; eight grandchildren and a sister, Larue Fleig, Fairfield. He was preceded in death by one brother.
