Description	:	Services for Robert Henry "Bob" Whitson, 49, rural Baldwin, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Rumsey Funeral Home, with the Rev. Gary Myer officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Whitson died Monday, April 5, 1993, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital of an apparent heart attack. He was born Feb. 13, 1944, at Mountain Grove, Mo., the son of Velmer Egbert and Eula Belle Riley Whitson. He was born Feb. 13, 1944, at Mountain Grove, Mo., the son of Velmer Egbert and Eula Belle Riley Whitson. He moved to Lawrence in 1951 and attended schools here, graduating from Lawrence High School in 1962. Mr. Whitson worked at John Colyer Wholesale Plumbing as a warehouseman. He later worked as a plumber in the housing department at Kansas University. He also had worked as a mover for North American Van Lines in Lawrence. His hobbies were hunting, fishing, stamp collecting and gardening. He was a member of the Alford-Clarke Post No. 852 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Lawrence, the National Rifle Assn., and the Mill Creek Rifle Club in DeSoto. He married Carol Wilcox on April 2, 1971, in Lawrence. She survives of the home. Other survivors include his stepfather, Walter Parsons; three brothers, Larry, Kenneth and Loyd, all of Lawrence; and two sisters, Roma Parrish and Sue Howell, both of Lawrence.
