Description	:	The funeral for Robert James Duncan was Saturday at 2 p.m., from the Klawitter-Price Funeral Home Chapel, Nelson. He died last Wednesday in Park View Manor, Harvard, at the age of 66 years. The son of Thomas and Minnie Ethel Sims Duncan, he was born at Oak Feb. 12, 1922. He was educated in the Nelson schools. Duncan served his country with the United States Army from Oct. 21, 1942, to Jan. 10, 1946. He was inducted in Fort Leavenworth, Kan., and discharged from Augsburg, Bayean, Germany. He died last Wednesday in Park View Manor, Harvard, at the age of 66 years. The son of Thomas and Minnie Ethel Sims Duncan, he was born at Oak Feb. 12, 1922. He was educated in the Nelson schools. Duncan served his country with the United States Army from Oct. 21, 1942, to Jan. 10, 1946. He was inducted in Fort Leavenworth, Kan., and discharged from Augsburg, Bayean, Germany. While serving he was a cook and toured in France, Germany and Austria. Duncan received the Combat Infantry Badge, Bronze Service Star (Campaign Central Europe), World War II Victory Medal and American Campaign Medal. After being discharged he re-enlisted in the Air Force Jan. 11, 1946, in Augsburg, Germany, and was discharged Sept. 16, 1947, in Fort Custer, Mich. While serving he was a special vehicle operator. He received the World War II Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Army of Occupation Medal. He also served as sergeant of guard at the Nuremberg War Criminal Trials and was a light truck driver, heavy equipment operator and armament man his first trip overseas. Duncan had lived in Nelson and Chicago and the past two years had lived in Harvard. He had also worked for the Bureau of Reclamation in Hemingford, Neb. He is survived by three sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and other relatives. The Rev. Jerry Heydenberk officiated at the services. Burial with full military rites by the Nelson VFW and American Legion Posts was in the Nelson Cemetery. Superior Express, Thursday, February 16, 1989
