Garrison was born on June 18, 1940 in Atchison, Kansas the son of Bert M. and Wilfred C. (Willis) Garrison. He worked on construction sites including Crown Center, Kansas City, Mo., and Mall Towers, Atchison, KS, he also worked as a janitor-maintenance Dept. for USD # 409 several years earlier, and in maintenance for Blair Milling for 13 years. May 10th, 2014 at his residence in Cummings, KS. Robert M. Garrison was born on June 18, 1940 in Atchison, Kansas the son of Bert M. and Wilfred C. (Willis) Garrison. He worked on construction sites including Crown Center, Kansas City, Mo., and Mall Towers, Atchison, KS, he also worked as a janitor-maintenance Dept. for USD # 409 several years earlier, and in maintenance for Blair Milling for 13 years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and played bass guitar for several local bands including, " The Sons of Legionnaires" and ‘ The Don Chambers Band". Robert loved electrical and construction work. He also helped lay asphalt for A-1 Asphalt Construction. Robert was married several times; he was married to Mabel Garrison and later divorced. He was married to Olivia Boos and later divorced, and he was married to Dorothy Thomas, and later divorced. Survivors include his friend and caregiver, Kathryn Walter and her family, Whisper Walter, and Adrain Poff, Step-daughter, Cheryl "Sherry" Dunn, Atchison, KS, brother, William Garrison, Kansas City, six sisters, Carol Wohlgemuth, Parsons, KS., Wilma Smith, Topeka, KS., Lillie Wade, Colorado Springs, CO., Janey Garrison, Colorado Springs, CO., Malvina Weaver, Atchison, KS., and Virginia Lee Seattle WA, two step grandchildren, Abigail Carter, Tesa Jimenez, and five step great grandchildren. His parents, a step sister, Bunny Linden, two brothers, Tommy Garrison, and Burton Garrison, a sister, Sharon Garrison, and a step grandson, Carl Dunn, Jr. preceded him in death. Funeral services will be 10:00 am on Wednesday, May 14th, 2014 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home with Rev. Ben Ockree, Associate Pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery.
