Funeral Services will be 3:00 PM Friday, February 1, 2019 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Pastor Bob Sloan and Brent Taylor with burial to follow in the Patrick Cemetery. The family will greet friends Friday from 2:00 – 3:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the family home. Mr. Wilks was born April 20, 1960 in Chesterfield, SC a son of Geraldine McLain Wilks and the late William Leslie Wilks. He was a graduate of Cheraw High School class of 1978 and also a graduate of Betty Stevens Cosmetology School. He was a former employee of Trend Benders of Charleston and Walmart of Cheraw. Mike was a member of Patrick Presbyterian Church. His hobbies included crafting, quilting, crocheting, and knitting. In addition to his father, Mr. Wilks was also preceded in death by 1 niece, Kristie Wilks. Survivors include his beloved mother, Geraldine McLain Wilks; brother, Tommy (Sherrille) Wilks both of Patrick, SC; and sister, Kaye Wilks Johnson of Asheville, NC; nieces, Jessica Wilks of Patrick, SC, Katelyn (Justin) Beebe of Wilkesboro, NC, and Zachary Johnson of Asheville, NC; great niece, Gracie Winburn; great nephew, Parker Tolson; and his beloved pet and best friend, “Della.” The family would like to express their thanks to the staff of Agape Hospice of the Pee Dee for the love and care shown to Mr. Wilks. Memorials may be made to Patrick Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 37, Patrick, SC 29584 or to the Patrick Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 209, Patrick, SC 29584.
