Description	:	ROSA STALDER WALTER Rosa Stalder Walter was born in Switzerland, December 28, 1845 and departed this life at the home of her daughter, April 4th, 1923, aged 78 years, 3 months, and 6 days. She came to America with her parents when about 11 years of age and settled in Monroe County, Ohio where she grew to womanhood. Read More	ROSA STALDER WALTER Rosa Stalder Walter was born in Switzerland, December 28, 1845 and departed this life at the home of her daughter, April 4th, 1923, aged 78 years, 3 months, and 6 days. She came to America with her parents when about 11 years of age and settled in Monroe County, Ohio where she grew to womanhood. She was married to John Walter in the year of 1862 and came to Iowa about forty-five years ago and settled on the farm which has been her only home To this union were born nine children, three having preceded the parents in death. Those left to mourn her departure are; John of Corning, Alice Hedinger, of Nasperville, Illinois; Charles of Cushing, Oklahoma; Henry, William, and Clara of this community, and a son Fred Liner also of this place. Besides the children she leaves eighteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, one bother and one sister of Monroe County, Ohio, and a large host of friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, who died in 1903. After his death she made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Clara Hanzie, who tenderly cared for her, with the assistance of the other children, during her long illness. For the past few months it was known by all that it was only a matter of time until the silver thread would break. Not one word of complaint ever came to her lips, always patient, kind, and loving, ready to minister a word of comfort or cheer to those who came to see her. She was confirmed in the faith of the Lutheran Church when a girl of fourteen years of age to which faith and church she has remained a faithful and loyal member. Another generations has gone to join tis kindred over on the golden shore. It is only the transplanting of a life from this world of sorrow, pain, and anguish to the home triumphant where all is joy, peace, and happiness. The funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Hanzie home conducted by Rev. Overholser. Interment made in Methodist Grove Cemetery.
