Description	:	Roy Kleen Estherville – Services for Roy Charles Kleen, 74, rural Estherville, will be held Saturday, 1:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, Dolliver, with Rev. Merrill Summerbelle officiating. Interment will be in Dolliver Cemetery with military graveside rites. He died Tuesday [November 23, 1982] morning in the Veterans Hospital in Minneapolis. Friends may call at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home in Estherville from 3-9 p.m. Friday and 8:30-11:30 Saturday. Kleen was born Feb. 21, 1908 at Pleasant Plains, Ill., the son of Henry and Emelia (Deppie) [Deppe] Kleen. He moved to the Dolliver area with his parents as a small child and attended the Dolliver Schools where he graduated from high school in 1926. On Feb. 12, 1960 he was united in marriage to Grace Stalwell at Newton. He farmed for himself until the past 15 years when he has been employed by the Dolliver elevator. Kleen was a United States Army veteran of World War Two, and a member of the Armstrong Veterans of Foreign Wars Post and Dolliver American Legion Post. Survivors include his wife, Grace; one son, John Kleen, Dolliver; one daughter, Mrs. Leland (Janice) Tomlinson, Chicago; one brother Edgar Kleen, Estherville and one sister, Mrs. Mae Evans, Dolliver. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister. Mr. Kleen died Tuesday at the VA Hospital at Minneapolis. Visitation will be 3-9 p.m. today and until noon Saturday at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home of Estherville and prior to service at the church. He was born Feb. 21, 1918 at Pleasant Plains, Ill. He and his family moved to Emmet County near Dolliver when he was a child. A 1926 graduate of Dolliver High School, he lived in the Dolliver area most of his life, where he farmed. He served in the Army during World War II and married Grace Swalwel Feb. 12, 1950, at Newton, Iowa. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. Survivors include his wife; son, John of Dolliver; daughter, Mrs. Leland (Janice) Tomlinson of Chicago; brother, Edgar of Estherville; sister, Mrs. Mae Evans of Dolliver.
