Description	:	Roy C. Mayberry Royal Cleveland Mayberry was born August 25, 1885 on a farm near Silver City, Mills County, IA. He was the son of William H. and Nancy Mayberry and one of six children. Mayberry Royal Cleveland Mayberry was born August 25, 1885 on a farm near Silver City, Mills County, IA. He was the son of William H. and Nancy Mayberry and one of six children. On December 25, 1907 he was united in marriage to Irene Hurst of the East Liberty community. Two daughters were born to this union. Roy joined the Methodist Church of Silver City in young manhood and continued to be active in church work throughout the remainder of his life. For the past several years he had been a member of Grace Methodist Church in Glenwood. He lived his entire life in Mills County, with the exception of one year spent in Hamburg, Ia. He followed the occupation of farming until he moved to Glenwood in 1947. Since that time he had been sexton for the Glenwood Cemetery and equipment man for the Glenwood mortuaries. Mr. and Mrs. Mayberry celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on December 25, 1957. Roy led a very active life until he suffered a stroke on June 26, 1959. Since then he had been gradually failin in health until his passing on July 10, 1959, at the age of 73 years, 10 months, and 15 days. He leaves to morn his passing his beloved wife, Irene; two daughters, Mrs. Vera Harryman of Irvington, Calif., and Mrs. Margie Posey of Long Beach, Calif.; one granddaughter, Joan Harryman; one brother, Homer E. Mayberry of Glenwood, Ia.; one sister, Mrs. Hazel Wilhelm of Hastings, Ia., several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Preceding him in death were his parents in 1917 and 1933; two brothers and one sister. Services for Mr. Mayberry were held in Raynor's Chapel on Monday, July 3, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. C. F. Waterman officiating. Music was furnished by Nell McPherron, soloist, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Don Wamberg. Flower bearers were Mrs. Carl Hurst, Mrs. Mary Culver, Mrs. Walter Phelps, and Mrs. Bruce Jackson. Casket bearers were Henry Timmerman, Carl Hurst, Walter Lang, Wade Huff, Cobe Killman, and Don Edwards. Burial was made in the East Liberty Cemetery north of Malvern, Iowa.
