Kathy: Private OBITUARY: Cumberland Times News (Cumberland, Maryland), Monday, December 18, 1995 – Page 6 MCHENRY – Ruby Irene DeWitt, 86, of 94 Hoyes-Sang Run Road, died Sunday, Dec. 17, 1995, at her residence. Born July 29, 1909, at Hoyes, she was the daughter of the late Roy V. and Grace (DeWitt) Friend. She was also preceded in death of her husband, Emory Luther DeWitt, on Nov. 5, 1978; and four brothers, Everett, Carlton, Charles, and Harold Friend. A lifetime member of the United Pentecostal Church, Mrs. DeWitt dedicated her life to God and devoted her time to her church. She was active in many programs within her church and was a Sunday School teacher and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She was particularly interested in the guidance of the youth and was a Youth Leader for many years. Her home was open to everyone. Surviving are a son, Luther M. DeWitt, Minerva, Ohio; four daughters, Irene G. Rodeheaver, Charlestown, Md., Lois A . Cogley and Kathy E. Hinebaugh, both of McHenry, and Donna M. Ingalls, Tampa, Fla.; a brother, James R. Friend, McHenry; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, McHenry, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted at the Sang Run Christian Center on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Ralph Jacks, assisted by the Rev. Joseph Spiker and the Rev. Dennis Mickle officiating. Interment will be in the Sang Run Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Huey Rodeheaver Jr., Larry Rodeheaver, Roger DeWitt, Randy DeWitt, Jerry Cogley, and Justin Hinebaugh. Expression of sympathy may be directed to the Hospice of Garrett County. (Transcribed by Ronn E. Friend.
