Services will be at 10:00am, Saturday, November 23 at Lutheran Memorial Church with burial at Riverside Cemetery Ruth Alena Bergeson was born on May 23, 1929, in Stanley County to Arthur C. and Mary (Olesen) Bergeson. She grew up in the Hayes area where she attended school and graduated from Pierre High School. She married Paul Inman on May 1, 1949 in Pierre. Ruth enjoyed her life as a mother and homemaker but she also enjoyed her work as a secretary. She belonged to PEO, Stephen Ministries, Women to Women (Prison Ministries) and was a Maryhouse volunteer. She was an active member of Lutheran Memorial Church, which included: serving as the first female Congregation President, choir, prayer group and many other church activities. She was considered a "prayer warrior" by her friends and family. She was proud of her Danish heritage. She enjoyed gourmet cooking, interior design and traveling with Paul. Most important to Ruth and Paul, were their four adopted children and all of the blessings that came with that. She is survived by her husband, Paul, of Pierre; children: Julie (Dana) Darger, Roger (Cathy) Inman, Randy (Dianne) Inman and Jana Sauceda; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers: Daniel (Janice) Bergeson and Ronald Bergeson; and sister-in-law: Gretha Bergeson. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: Arthur Bergeson and Donald Bergeson; and a granddaughter, Kati Darger. Memorials may be directed to Lutheran Social Services or the Women's Prison Ministry.
