The rites were held at 2 o'clock in St. John's Lutheran church with the Rev. W. J. F. Adix officiating. Mr. Seeman died suddenly Friday afternoon of a heart attack. Court House Closed The court house at Elkader was closed Monday out of respect for Mr. Seeman, and all the county officers attended the last services. Mr. Seeman was born Sept. 8, 1888, on a farm in Mallory township. He was the son of Gustav and Bertha Kobernusz Seeman. His full given name was Samuel Carl. A few years after his birth, his parents moved to a farm in Jefferson township, where he grew to young manhood. Married in 1910 He was married March 9, 1910 to Miss Christine Geuder of Guttenberg. They lived for a time in Jefferson township, and for a time on a farm near Littleport before moving in 1919 to the Garnavillo township place which he bought. Always interested in public affairs, Mr. Seeman served as secretary of the board of Borden independent school district in Garnavillo township for 19 years. He was trustee of Garnavillo township one term. Elected Supervisor He entered the race for Republican nomination for the board of supervisors last spring and defeated John Kuehl of Elkport by about 400 votes in the primary. He opposed Frank Brown, Mallory township farmer, and Alphonse Vorwald of Guttenberg in the fall election, and received a 500 plurality over his nearest opponent. He retired from farming on Jan. 1 of this year, when he took office, in order to devote his whole time to his new duties. Upon retirement, he moved to Guttenberg establishing his residence in town for the first time in his life. Minority Member Although he was the minority member of the board--the other supervisors are Democrats--the county governing body has run smoothly during the five months he served. He early impressed his colleagues on the board with his astuteness as a business man and as an administrator. Survivors Besides Mrs. Seeman, he is survived by two sons, Randall of Guttenberg and Eldon of Garnavillo township; one brother, Bert of Jefferson township; and one sister, Mrs. Del Morley of Guttenberg. Pallbearers at his funeral were 4 brother-in-law: Rueben Thiese, Oscar Niemeyer, Ed Niehaus and George Geuder, and 2 old friends, Milton Reimer and August Krause. Burial was in City cemetery.
