Gaskill, 74, who died at his home in Villisca last Thursday, September 11, 1941, were held at the Wolfe Funeral Home Sunday afternoon with the Rev. W. S. Gaskill, 74, who died at his home in Villisca last Thursday, September 11, 1941, were held at the Wolfe Funeral Home Sunday afternoon with the Rev. W. S. Bowden of the Advent Christian Church in charge. Mr. Gaskill was a resident of this vicinity for the past 70 years. He was born at Leon, Iowa, January 30, 1867, and when he was 4 years of age, his parents moved to Villisca. He had been ill for a short time before his death. Pall bearers at the funeral were F. S. Pierson, Elias Lewis, Sam Gardner, Louis Enarson, Fred Lewis, and Wm. Steward. Singers were Mrs. Helen Penwell and Mrs. Frances Gray and Miss Dorothy Bowden was the pianist. The floral committee was Helen Lewis and Jessie Wagaman. Burial was in the Villisca Cemetery. The deceased is survived by his wife, the former Myrtle Sheered, whom he married on April 4, 1889. He is also survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ola Miers, Milton, Iowa and Mrs. Bessie Doeringsfeld, Hampton, Iowa, 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Nellie Moore, Chicago.
