Levi Allred, b. 1772 NC; d. 1858 AL It is suggested that Sarah Elizabeth York and Thomas Allred were part of the 1755 wagon train migration into North Carolina traveling with her parents and perhaps other families like Allred, York, Julian. Diffee, Lane, Brown, etc. Note: This above relationship is only a proposed scenario by genealogist Dennis York based on dates, geography and long time family friendships and intermarriages between the York and Allred families. No research has been found so far to support the evidence of an Elizabeth Twiggs alleged to have married Thomas Allred. The marriage of Thomas Allred to Elizabeth Twiggs is widely held by many genealogical internet sites but believed to be very questionable or in error after many decades of genealogical research since 1968. The Sarah Elizabeth York and Thomas Allred is far more believable and more logical especially from York and Allred intermarriages and the names of their children. Note: "No one has found documentation to prove who Thomas Allred's wife was or when or where they married. People see the 1809 will of Thomas ALLRED which names his wife Elizabeth, may assume Elizabeth was his only wife." Yes, there are lots of family histories that claim she was Elizabeth Twiggs but that has not been proven either. She may have been named Elizabeth Twiggs – I don't know. No one knows. Dennis York Genealogist since 1968 and Family Historian of the York and Allred families is of his opinion that Sarah 'Elizabeth' YORK married Thomas Allred (b.1725 PA- d. 1810 NC). It is believed they were most likely married in 1751 in the log cabin of the bride's parents at Terrapin Neck, Frederick County, Virginia (now Jefferson County, West Virginia), British Colonial America. They were the parents of 10 Children. "No one knows who Thomas' first wife was or what her name was (because of the lack of documentation). This a proposed scenario due to the very close friendships between the YORK and ALLRED families living in the same geographic locations per the US Census records. This proposed Scenario is recommended for your consideration.
