Vedda, as she was familiarly known, moved with her parents when a small child to Villisca, Iowa, where she grew to womanhood. Read More	OBITUARY FOR SARAH SWIFT Sarah Evedna Prevost Smith, daughter of Joseph Prevost and Eliza Insley, born 11 Feb 1867 in Kirkwood, Illinois and died in Birch Tree, Missouri, January 27, 1914 of abdominal tuberculosis, being forty-six years, eleven months, and sixteen days of age at the time of her death. Vedda, as she was familiarly known, moved with her parents when a small child to Villisca, Iowa, where she grew to womanhood. She was converted and joined the Methodist Church under the pastorate of Rev. Campbell, March 12, 1889, she was joined in marriage to William Swift and went to South Dakota where they lived until the fall of 1899, when the family moved near Shenandoah, Iowa. To this union were born eight children, six of whom, Zoe, Earl, George, John, Winnie Belle, and June, together with their father are left to mourn the loss of a loving mother and faithful wife. The other two children, William Jr. and Roslyn, have passed before. Two years ago the family moved to Birch Tree, Missouri, where she passed to her reward, after a lingering illness. Besides the immediate family, she leaves to mourn their loss, five sisters and two brothers. The remains were brought to Villisca, where funeral services were held in the Methodist Church on Friday afternoon, January 30, conducted by Rev. E. S. Mencher, and the body was interred in the Villisca Cemetery. Relatives from out of town who attended the funeral were; Mr. and Mrs. D. H.
