Sarah Lynn, widow of Elijah Edwards, died in this city Thursday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Ward. Mrs. Edwards was born in Bedford county, Penn., November 11, 1828 (sic. October 11, 1823 per inscription, and Fulton county PA. per family group sheet), and grew to womanhood there. Sarah Lynn, widow of Elijah Edwards, died in this city Thursday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Ward. Mrs. Edwards was born in Bedford county, Penn., November 11, 1828 (sic. October 11, 1823 per inscription, and Fulton county PA. per family group sheet), and grew to womanhood there. She came to Jefferson county with her parents in the '40's and was married here October 30th, 1853. With the exception of a few years in Wayne county, Mr. and Mrs. Edwards had made their home here during all those years. The husband died in this city December 22d, 1900, and the widow had since lived with Mrs. Ward, a grandchild. In her active days Mrs. Edwards had many friends throughout Jefferson county and those of them who are left will mourn her death. She was an excellent, christian woman, devoted to family and friends. Funeral services were held at the Ward home Saturday, conducted by Rev. Thos. Osborn.
