Whether or not she actually died on January 7th but her obituary was not submitted for publication until the 8th needs clarification. ------------------ Fairfield Ledger Friday January 8, 1888 Rites Sunday for Stella Reed LOCKRIDGE - Stella Reed, 96, lifetime resident of Lockridge, died at 4:35 a.m. today (sic)at Maple Leaf Manor in Mount Pleasant. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield with the Rev. Larry Henbrey officiating. Burial will be Monday in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call at Raymond Funeral Home starting Saturday morning. A memorial has been established to the Lockridge Senior Citizens Center. Mrs. Reed was born May 30, 1891. She married Charles J. Reed, who died Oct. 11, 1952. She was a housewife and also worked as a babysitter. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. A son preceded her in death.
