Description	:	KING, NC ~ Mrs. Stella Brinkley Chilton, 86, widow of Charles Clyde Chilton, of N. 52 Bypass, Pilot Mountain, passed away Wednesday morning, Jan. 16, 2002, at Village Care Center in King. She was born May 7, 1915, in Surry County to Luther Thomas and Rosa Lee Wilson Brinkley. Mrs. Chilton was a loving mother and grandmother, a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Pilot Mountain. Read More	KING, NC ~ Mrs. Stella Brinkley Chilton, 86, widow of Charles Clyde Chilton, of N. 52 Bypass, Pilot Mountain, passed away Wednesday morning, Jan. 16, 2002, at Village Care Center in King. She was born May 7, 1915, in Surry County to Luther Thomas and Rosa Lee Wilson Brinkley. Mrs. Chilton was a loving mother and grandmother, a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Pilot Mountain. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Adele and Bill Jessup of Pilot Mountain; two grandchildren, Cindy and Dean Denny of Pilot Mountain and Sandra J. Tedder and a special friend Tommy Comer of Rural Hall; two great-grandchildren, Jessica and Wes Denny of Pilot Mountain; a sister-in-law, Anges Chilton; and several special nieces and nephews. Mrs. Chilton was preceded in death by her two brothers, Jesse and Carlie Brinkley; and three sisters, Novella Haymore, Donie Brinkley and Ethel Inman. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2002, at Cox-Needham Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Eugene Sherill. Interment will follow in the Pilot Mountain City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday Jan. 17, 2002, at Cox-Needham Funeral Home. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff and residents of Village Care of King for their love and support. Memorials may be made in floral tribute; to the Village Care, P.O. Box 1750, King, NC 27021; or a charity of the donor's choice. The Chilton family is being served by Cox-Needham Funeral Home, Pilot Mountain.
