Description	:	Blade-Nov 1961 Stella died at the age of 52 years, 4 months and 22 days. Stella, as she was known to everyone, was a very faithful member of the Catholic Church: a member of the St. Jude Alter Society. She was raised in the St. Joe community. On 14 Feb. 1927, she married Alfred Girard. To this union 6 kids were born. They made their home on the farm in the Como and St. Joe communities until 1943 when they made their home in Washington, KS. Stella, as she was known to everyone, was a very faithful member of the Catholic Church: a member of the St. Jude Alter Society. She was raised in the St. Joe community. On 14 Feb. 1927, she married Alfred Girard. To this union 6 kids were born. They made their home on the farm in the Como and St. Joe communities until 1943 when they made their home in Washington, KS. Stella lived in St. Joe while her husband was in the service, then back to Washington in 1945. From Washington they moved to Kearney, NE where they made their home for 8 years. Here she was employed as a nurse's aide at the State Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospital. In 1954 she had her 1st heart attack and was unable to carry on her work. In 1954 they moved to Hays, KS where the made their home for 3 years. Then moved to Stafford, KS where they lived until 1959 when they moved to Highlands, TX where she passed away. She leaves to mourn, her husband Alfred of Highland, TX; two daughters, Mrs. Lucille Tremblay of Clifton, KS, and Mrs. Lorena Ashley of Kearney, NE; Raymond and LaVern of Stafford, KS: two son in-laws, and three daughter-in-laws. Also seven sisters and two brothers: Mrs. Agnes Girard Concordia, Mrs. Alphonse Gagnon, Mrs. Hector Breault, and Mrs. Albert Dandurand of Salina, Mrs. William Collette of Aurora, Mrs. Aldela Ferron and Mrs. Hector Girard of Clay Center: Albert LeBlanc and Fred LeBlanc of Clyde and sisters-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nieces and nephews, and many friends. Her father, mother, baby daughter and three brothers precede her in death. Funeral services were held at 11:30 in the St. Jude Catholic Church in Highlands, TX on Nov. 24 and at the St. Joe Church in Kansas at 9:00on Nov. 27 with the Rev. Joseph Scheetz. Burial was at St. Joe Cemetery. Pallbearers who were nephews: Gene LeBlanc, Duane LeBlanc, Larry LeBlanc, Alfred Collette, Ronald Girard, and Conrad Girard.
