The son of Rudolph and Tena Flaxel Janicek, he was born Jan. 18, 1909 in Polk country [sic] and resided on the home farm all his life. He was a member of the Holy Name society and former trustee of St. Joseph church. He also was a past member of the District 36 school board. Mr. Janicek is survived by his wife, the former Leona Seipp, whom he married Feb. 3, 1932 at St. Bonaventure church; one daughter, Mrs. Charles (Marilyn) Jaworski of Fremont; one son, David of Omaha; and seven grandchildren. Also surviving are his mother, Mrs. Tena Janicek of Columbus; brother, Cyrus of Shelby; two sisters, Mrs. Roy (Camilla) Grossnicklaus of Osceola and Mrs. Harold (Verona) Ebel of Columbus. His father, one brother and one sister preceded him [in] death.
