In Omaha, Nebr. Sylvia taught school for 32 years, including Fisher and Bluff Dale country schools as well as Clyde and Glasco schools, during which time she was honored as Kansas State Teacher of the Year. She obtained her degree in Education from Emporia State Teachers College, Emporia, Kans. Read More	Sylvia Ernestine Teasley Rogers Sylvia Ernestine Teasley Rogers was born Feb. 6, 1906, in Simpson, Kans., to Mr. And Mrs. Calvin Teasley and departed this life Jan. 9, 1990. In Omaha, Nebr. Sylvia taught school for 32 years, including Fisher and Bluff Dale country schools as well as Clyde and Glasco schools, during which time she was honored as Kansas State Teacher of the Year. She obtained her degree in Education from Emporia State Teachers College, Emporia, Kans. She retired in 1968 and moved to Omaha, Nebr., 15 years ago to be near her daughter, Sally, where she continued to be an active member of the United Methodist Church as well as the Retired Teachers Association and Gold Star Wives. Sylvia is well-known for her favorite hobby of writing poetry and had just written a poem for the January edition of the Immanuel Village Newsletter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman; her parents Calvin and Delia Teasley; sisters, Constance Mueller, Madeline Powers, Doris Moore, and brother Vernon Teasley. She is survived by her daughter, Sally Rogers, Omaha, Nebr.; sisters Lila Beck, Oklahoma City, Okla and Margaret Butler, Wichita, Kansas.; sister-in-law Theresa Teasley, Topeka; brother-in-law Fred Beck, Oklahoma City and many nieces, nephews and friends. A prayer service was held at John A. Gentlemen's Westside Funeral Home, Omaha, Nebr., on Jan 11, 1990. Interment was at Glasco Cemetery with Rev. Doyle Carroll of the Methodist Church officiating. Memorials are suggested to your favorite educational institution or Glasco High School Alumni. Chris Newland is treasurer of the Alumni Association.
