Horras was born Sept. 17, 1902 in Keokuk County, the daughter of Constant (sic) and Anna Peiffer Buch. She was reared and educated in the Keota community. She was married to Alva Horras Aug. 27, 1924, at Clear Creek. He died Jan. 17, 1959. Mrs. Horras had made her home in Jefferson County since 1934. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society. Surviviors included two daughters, Mrs. Urban Walker, Highland, Calif., and Mrs. Harry Knight, Sheboygan, Wis.; two sons, Homer, Hamilton, Ill., and Harlan, Route 4, Fairfield; 24 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Also one brother, Leo Buch, Fairfield; and two sisters, Mrs. Rena Mineart, Mason City, and Mrs. Margaret Linnenkamp, Mason City. Mrs. Horras was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
