Description	:	Thelma N. Hanson, 84 of Cashmere, and a longtime resident of the Upper Wenatchee Valley, died Monday, Feb. 28, 2000. She was born Sept. 8, 1915 to Andrew and Lucy (Howerton) Hanson at Leavenworth, where she lived and attended school. She was the youngest of five children, Edward Lewis, Richard Lester and Bertha Louise Hanson Akers, all preceded her in death. Thelma's first love was her church, The Assembly of God, that she belonged to and attended all of her life. She taught Sunday School in several Assembly of God Churches in the valley. She was born Sept. 8, 1915 to Andrew and Lucy (Howerton) Hanson at Leavenworth, where she lived and attended school. She was the youngest of five children, Edward Lewis, Richard Lester and Bertha Louise Hanson Akers, all preceded her in death. Thelma's first love was her church, The Assembly of God, that she belonged to and attended all of her life. She taught Sunday School in several Assembly of God Churches in the valley. She and another Bible School student from Northwest Bible College in Seattle, held daily Vacation Bible Schools in the state of Montana. She served as a Deaconess and secretary-treasurer at her church in Leavenworth for a time. She worked at Boeing Aircraft Co. in Seattle, No. 2 plant in the electrical department during W.W. II. She was a fruit packer in several warehouses in the valley and also at Chelan Falls. In earlier years, she did interior decorating, taking a correspondence course from LaSalle University in Chicago. From 1965 to 1982, she worked as a Service Provider for Chelan County Senior Association. She worked for a number of years for Grant County Seniors Association. Also, she worked for the Okanogan Senior Association, Inc. in Omak, loving every day of it, because she loved people and enjoyed working for them. She is survived by one nephew, Delwyn Leroy Hanson of Ketchikan, AK; two nieces, Mrs. Ben Rogers of Soap Lake and Mrs. Dianna Kerr of Seattle; many numerous cousins. Memorial services will be announced at a later time. Services are under the care of Betts Funeral Service.
