She was born March 1, 1927, in Wilsey, the daughter of Richard Leo and Goldie Downey. Her childhood was spent in Kansas and Oklahoma. She attended Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina, where she met Pete Bross, with whom she would be married for 63 years. Theresa was active in Girl Scouts, Vacation Bible and Sunday School. Read More	Theresa Jean Bross March 1, 1927 - March 28, 2013 Theresa Jean Bross, 86, of Salina, went to heaven Thursday, March 28, 2013. She was born March 1, 1927, in Wilsey, the daughter of Richard Leo and Goldie Downey. Her childhood was spent in Kansas and Oklahoma. She attended Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina, where she met Pete Bross, with whom she would be married for 63 years. Theresa was active in Girl Scouts, Vacation Bible and Sunday School. In 1966, she completed her B.A. at KWU and taught at Gypsum and Roosevelt Lincoln, in Salina. While at Roosevelt Lincoln, she was the coordinator of the Gifted and Talented Program. Theresa completed her M.S. and Ph.D. from Kansas State University. In 1981, Theresa and Pete moved to Mitchell, S.D., where she was a professor and dean of the education department at Dakota Wesleyan. She was instrumental in developing master's and special education programs, as well as teaching the "Growing Healthy" program. She was the team leader involved in reviewing education programs at various universities in South Dakota. She returned to Salina in 2007. Theresa was preceded in death by her parents; her dear husband, Pete; two brothers, John Joseph and Gerold; and one sister, Helen. She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Jean Bross-Sanneman; one brother, Kirk; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call from noon until 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina, where family will receive friends from 6 until 7 p.m. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Salina. Burial will be at 2 p.m. that afternoon in the Glasco Cemetery, Glasco.
