Description	:	MADISON, THOMAS B.—Thomas B. Madison was born to Frank Madison and Minnie Eberhardt Madison on April 22, 1906, at Geneva, and passed away October 27, 1985, at Clarkson Hospital in Omaha, at the age of 79 years, 6 months and 5 days. He was one of 13 children in the family. He attended rural school at District 2 and then helped his father with farm work until his marriage. His entire life was spent in and around Geneva. Madison was born to Frank Madison and Minnie Eberhardt Madison on April 22, 1906, at Geneva, and passed away October 27, 1985, at Clarkson Hospital in Omaha, at the age of 79 years, 6 months and 5 days. He was one of 13 children in the family. He attended rural school at District 2 and then helped his father with farm work until his marriage. His entire life was spent in and around Geneva. For a time he worked for the county and for over 30 years he worked as a shop foreman for John Deere Implement Company. He retired in 1971 and spent his leisure hours enjoying friends and gardening as he had a great attraction for the outdoors. Tom was married to Laurine Ricketts of Geneva, on May 29, 1931, and to them one child was born. He was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Geneva, having been baptized and having joined the church in 1972. He loved gardening and enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Minnie Madison; and his brothers and sisters, Florence Brust of Missouri, George of Central City, Clarence of Geneva, Alice Smisek of Crete, Ralph of Shickley, Alta Ebbeka of Geneva and Hazel Ladman of Geneva. He is survived by his wife, Laurine, daughter, Geraldine Rippe of Bruning; grandchildren Russell Rippe and wife, Susan, of Lincoln, Rochelle Rippe of Kansas City, Mo., Jayne Germer and husband, Jim, of Hebron, and Karen Rippe of Lincoln; and two great-grandchildren, Noel and Behrandt Rippe of Lincoln. Funeral services were conducted from Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Geneva, on Wednesday October 30, with Pastor Elton Walth officiating. “Rock of Ages” and “Amazing Grace” were sung by the congregation. Pallbearers were Fred Votipka, Harry Dondlinger, Myron Carlson, Harry Korensky, Darrel Hughes, and Marvin Shademann. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery.
