Interment was made in the Willow township cemetery. Thomas E., son of the late Michael and Bridget Moylan, was born December 18, 1879, at Waukee and passed away at his home in Bayard November 23, 1953 at the age of 73 years, 11 months and five days. In 1883, with his parents, he moved to a farm south of Scranton and in 1886 they located on a farm north of Coon Rapids where he attended rural schools in Union township and the Coon Rapids high school. February 11, 1903 he was united in marriage to Margaret K. Halligan of Bayard. To this union were born three sons— Floyd L., Scranton; Lloyd L., Bagley, and Merle F., LeRoy, Minn. Mr. Moylan was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic church and of Council No. 2030 of the Knights of Columbus of Jefferson. Preceding him in death were his parents, four brothers, John R., William B., Joe and Frank G., a sister, Catherine, who died in infancy, another sister, Mary, who was Mrs. Lee Brutsche. He is survived by his wife and three sons. Also, there are six grandchildren. They are Mrs. Eugene B. Ferguson and Mrs. Gordon McIlrath of Jefferson and Elaine Moylan, children of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Moylan; Gerald D. Moylan of the U.S. Navy stationed in Japan and JoAnn Moylan of Des Moines, children of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Moylan and Dixie Lee Moylan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Merle Moylan Other survivors are two sisters: Mrs. Ed Hanlon of Coon Rapids and Mrs. E.A. Stangl of Harlan, in addition to many more distant relatives and many friends.
