THOMAS WALKER DEAD After a Short Illness Thomas Walker Dies at Bisbee, Arizona. The remains of Thomas Walker, who died Sunday, April 6, at Bisbee, Arizona, arrived in DuBois Friday afternoon and were taken at once to the residence of John Lucky, an old-time friend of the deceased. Although having lived in Pawnee county only a short time, Mr. Walker made many warm friends both in a business and social way. He was a man whose word was as good as his bond, a kind and loving husband and father, and a good neighbor. It was the intention of Mr. Walker to resign his position in the mines this fall and locate permanently on his farm three miles east of DuBois and enjoy the fruits of his labor with his family and friends. Thomas Walker was born the 5th day of June, 1870, in Eskam, Lancashire county, England and died in Bisbee, Arizona, on the 6th day of April, 1913. He came to America when 19 years of age and immediately became a citizen of the united States. He was united in marriage May 21, 1890, to Miss Agnes May Whitehead of Creede, Colorado. To this union three children were born, Harry Edward, Thomas, Jr. and William Jennings. Mr. and Mrs. Walker made their home in Globe, Arizona, where he engaged in mining and where he held splendid positions with some of the larger concerns of the state. About three years ago Mr. Walker purchased a farm three miles east of DuBois, where his family has since resided, he continuing his work at the mines. He leaves ti mourn his loss a wife and three sons in this country and a mother, one sister and two brothers in England. Funeral services were conducted at the U. b. church in DuBois on Sunday, April 13, Rev. G. W. Landis of Bern officiating. The remains were laid to rest in the DuBois cemetery. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to the bereaved family in their hour of sorrow.
