Titus T. French Of Cassopolis Buried In Buchanan. This afternoon at 1 o'clock there was held at the home of J. E. [James Edgar] French, the funeral of his oldest brother, Titus Thayer French, who died on Sunday from the infirmities of old age. The services were conducted by Rev. W. D. Cole. Mr. French was born Nov. 24, 1814, in Warren Co. New York, and thus lacked sixteen days of being 89 years old. For many years he resided in Buchanan and was a member of the Presbyterian church here for over forty years. He was a farmer, living with his brother Simon [Samuel] French on the prairie [Portage Prairie], for a number of years, and after Mr. Simon [Samuel] French's death about 15 years ago, went to live with his brother D. L. [Darius L.] French of Cassopolis. His only remaining sister Mrs. M. [Mitla] Fisk also lives in Cassopolis. Messrs. Willard [Willard Bliss French], and H. C. [Henry Clay French], are nephews of the deseased. The interment will be at Howe cemetery, where his parents are buried. ----------------------------
