He was born on April 26, 1943 in Salem, Ohio, the son of the late Glen G. and Bela A. (Sidinger) Couchie. He was born on April 26, 1943 in Salem, Ohio, the son of the late Glen G. and Bela A. (Sidinger) Couchie. Prior to his retirement in 2004, Todd had worked in the Shipping/Receiving Department at the Eljer Company for 28 years and had previously worked at NRM in Columbiana for 18 years. Mr. Couchie had been a 1961 graduate of Salem High School and a member of the Salem Elks Lodge #305 and the Salem Hunting Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf and was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns and the Cleveland Indians. He had served in the U.S. Air Force from 1961 to 1965. His wife, Beverly (Erath) Couchie, whom he married July 14, 1962, survives him; along with a son, Michael (Pam) Couchie of Uniontown; a daughter, Debbie (Buddy) Wood; a sister, Nancy (Jack) Hampton of Goodyear, Arizona; mother-in-law, Ona Mae Erath; four sisters-in-law, Barbara (David) Plummer, Carol (Duane) Stalnaker, Linda Stoffer, Marjorie (Don) Emch; two brothers-in-law, Chuck (Ardis) Erath and Randy (Debbie) Erath; an aunt, Ruth Cleckner; uncle, Wilbur Couchie; four grandchildren, Trevin and Kaylin Wood and Megan and Todd Stopera; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Ross Jackson officiating. Calling hours will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home with an Elks Lodge Service at 8:00 p.m. following the calling hours. Burial will be at the Hope Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Salem V.F.W. Post #892 and the Salem AMVETS Post #45 Burial Group. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market Street, Youngstown, OH 44512 or Salem High School Alumni Association, 330 East State Street, Salem, OH 44460.
