Numerous calls of the telephone inquiring for whom the bell was being tolled demonstrated how unexpected was the death of Trintje Behrens. She had been enjoying food health. Numerous calls of the telephone inquiring for whom the bell was being tolled demonstrated how unexpected was the death of Trintje Behrens. She had been enjoying food health. On Tuesday morning she had awakened and endeavored to get up and found that parts of her body did not respond to her will. The doctors, Wagner and Turner declared it a case of paralysis to which she succumbed about 24 hours later. Trintje Volina Behrens, youngest daughter of Jacob E. Behrens and his wife Volka nee Huls was born in Hancock county, Illinois on the 26th day of July 1900. She was there received into communion with the Triune God of Holy Baptism. When a small child wshe came to Nebraska with her parents and with them became a member of Immanuels church being confirmed with the class of 1914. The funeral took place Sunday afternoon, a great concourse of friends filling Immanuels church far beyond its seating capacity. The pastor preached the funeral services on Jer. 29:11. He was assisted by Rev. I. G. Heinicke, who based his address on 1 Cor. 15:19. The scholars of Immanuels school sang suitable selection. Interment was made in the Lutheran cemetery of St. John's church. The deceased attained the age of 26 years, 6 months and 27 days.
