Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Stratford Lutheran Church with Rev. Jennie Edinger officiating. Burial will be in South Marion Cemetery south of Stratford. Friends may call at Stark-Welin Funeral Home in Stratford Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon, when the casket will be taken to the church. She was born Sept. 30, 1909, in rural Stratford, the daughter of Edward and Ellen Peterson Nelson. She graduated from Stratford High School and from Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. She also taught in the Stratford rural school. On March 21, 1931, she married Lester Anderson at the Boone Lutheran Church. Survivors include one daughter, Glenyce M. Anderson of Fort Dodge; four sons, David of Titonka, Robert of San Antonio, Texas, Eldon of Stratford and Paul of Evansdale; one sister, Edna Sealine of Stratford; and nine grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband (in 1986), one daughter and one brother. She was a member of the Stratford Lutheran Church and the ELCA. She also did volunteer work at the Stratford Senior Citizen Center. Memorials may be given to Lutheran Social Services.
