Description	:	FULLERTON — Virgil Walter "Sam" Dubas, 83, of Fullerton, died unexpectedly Thursday, June 27, 2013, at Boone County Hospital in Albion. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Peter Catholic Church in Fullerton. Father Richard Whiteing will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Peter Catholic Cemetery with military rites. Mr. Dubas was born Feb. 3, 1930, in Nance County to Joseph and Monica (Czapla) Dubas. Survivors of his immediate family include four sisters and a brother-in-law, Frances Dubas, Valeria Wozny, Marcy and Ed Voichahoske, and Anna Dubas, all of Fullerton. Mr. Dubas was born Feb. 3, 1930, in Nance County to Joseph and Monica (Czapla) Dubas. Survivors of his immediate family include four sisters and a brother-in-law, Frances Dubas, Valeria Wozny, Marcy and Ed Voichahoske, and Anna Dubas, all of Fullerton. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Sam attended Fullerton schools and graduated from Fullerton High School in 1949. Following graduation, he served in the Army in Korea in the Triangle Hills area. He was wounded with shrapnel and was finally sent home in 1954. He worked at the Fullerton Creamery and then as a carpenter with Joe Pachunka, Paul Wetovick and Ron Newquist. He retired in 1995. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and fishing. He came from a very close Polish Catholic family and was greatly loved by his family and many friends. His Catholic faith was most important to him. He will be remembered as a positive and loving role model to all. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Ray Dubas, and Joseph and Florence Dubas; a brother-in-law, Norbert Wozny; and two nephews, Ken E. Dubas and Brian Wozny.
