Clinton Died February 10, 2002 Virginia Eileen Clinton was born to Marion Arling and Mary Sylvian "Sylvia" Driscoll Everley on February 1, 1925 at bellflower, California. She departed this life of 77 years Sunday morning, February 10, 2002 at Augusta Regional Hospital in Augusta, Kansas. She grew up and attended school in Glasco. In 1958 she met and married Joseph Edward Clinton in Wichita, Kansas. Soon thereafter, Virginia and Joseph moved to Neodesha when he was transferred with the Frisco Railroad. In addition to working at Boeing in Wichita and Adventure Line in Parsons, Virginia owned and operated the Prime Rib restaurant in Neodesha. Upon retirement, Joe and Virginia returned to Wichita and eventually to Glasco to care for her mother, Sylvia Everley. Virginia loved her family dearly. She cherished the time she had with them and especially enjoyed playing bridge with them. In addition, she liked going places and also enjoyed refurbishing and reselling houses. She attended First Christian Church in Glasco and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7697 Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joseph Clinton in 1987 and her son Bill Gold in 1993. Survivors are sons John Clinton of Wichita, Robert Ellis of Salina, Mike Thompson and wife Sharon of Manhattan, Marty Gold and wife Patti of Miami, Oklahoma; daughters Beverly Lamendola and husband Bruce of Wichita, Jan Blochlinger and husband Larry of Belleville; one brother, A.I. Everley of Wichita; 22 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and many friends. Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 13, 2002 at the First Christian Church, Glasco, Kansas, with Rev. Harold Knight, Wichita, Kansas officiating. Casket bearers were Jeff Blochlinger, Blake Ellis, Ryan Ellis, Mark Lamendola, Lance Thompson, Adam Ellis, Patrick Gold, Tyson Gold, Grant Thompson, Neil Thompson. Interment was in the Glasco Cemetery. McDonald-Roberts Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
