Description	:	BELL, HILLIARD—Hilliard Bell, son of James and Bridget Bell, was born in Iowa November 11, 1863. He came to Nebraska with his parents in 1871, locating on a homestead in Fillmore county, one and one-half miles north of the Chelsea church. March 5, 1890, Mr. Bell was united in marriage to Miss Emma Rhoda. To this union were born three children, Dr. Roy E. of Beatrice, Charles of Wichita, Kas., and Mrs. Ray Michener of Columbus. Read More	BELL, HILLIARD—Hilliard Bell, son of James and Bridget Bell, was born in Iowa November 11, 1863. He came to Nebraska with his parents in 1871, locating on a homestead in Fillmore county, one and one-half miles north of the Chelsea church. March 5, 1890, Mr. Bell was united in marriage to Miss Emma Rhoda. To this union were born three children, Dr. Roy E. of Beatrice, Charles of Wichita, Kas., and Mrs. Ray Michener of Columbus. In 1908 the family moved to Geneva, where Mr. and Mrs. Bell had since resided. Mr. Bell had not been in very good health the past year. July 17 he entered the Geneva General hospital, and September 8, 1945, he passed on to the life beyond, lacking two months and three days of being eight-two years of age. He leaves his companion of more than fifty-five years, his two sons and daughter, a grandson, Lt. Richard Bell, a construction engineer with the nation's Air Force on Guam, four sisters, Mrs. Frances Hennessy, Mrs. Elizabeth Abrams and Mrs. Luella Elward, all of Geneva, and Mrs. Hattie Rakestraw of Deadwood, S. D., and two brothers, Irvin J. of Ohiowa and Shelley of York, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ida, when in her teens, and Maggie in infancy. Funeral services were held at the family home Monday, September 10, at 2:30, Rev. Isaac Cassel of the Congregational church officiated. Music was furnished by Mrs. William H. Hinkle, accompanied by Mrs. David Engel. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery. The Nebraska Signal 13 Sept. 1945.
