Description	:	Son of Walter H. & Rose (Aerni) Kiuntke. He attended District 84 grade school and Kramer High School. On March 24, 1943, Walt was drafted into the US Army. He served his country during WW II and was honorably discharged on December 17, 1945. Walt then went to work for Ed Asche and later Roberts Dairy where he drove the milk route. Walt was united in marriage to Fern Dierks on January 28, 1951 at St. Luke's Church in Columbus, Nebraska. On September 11, 1954, Walt started Home Plumbing and Heating and retired in 1991. ... Walt was a master plumber. He was a member of the Nebraska Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling Contractors where he held the position of District Director. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. Walt was a member of the Columbus Sertoma where he was known as the "flag man". He was responsible for making sure the American Flags were displayed in front of area businesses on special occasions. For the past number of years, Walt took care of the general maintenance at St. Luke's United Church of Christ where he was a member. He held the position of church secretary and also served on the Board of Trustees. Walt enjoyed his daily routine of visiting the local coffee shops.
