Description	:	Warner attended St. Paul's Parochial School in Waverly and later the Waverly High School where he received his diploma. He then attended Wartburg College in Waverly where he took a one year business course. He went to work in the office at Rath Packing Company in Waterloo, and on Feb. 19, 1937, he was united in marriage to Florine Moeller in Bremer County. He then attended Wartburg College in Waverly where he took a one year business course. He went to work in the office at Rath Packing Company in Waterloo, and on Feb. 19, 1937, he was united in marriage to Florine Moeller in Bremer County. The couple made their home in Denver and Warner left Rath to work for the John Deere Company in Waterloo as a machinist. On June 28, 1945, he enlisted in the US Navy during WWII and was discharged on Oct. 27, 1945, as the war came to an end. He returned to John Deere and he and Florine were later divorced. Warner retired from John Deere in the mid 1970's following 30 years of service to the company. During his retirement, Warner spent his days attending auctions, always on the look out for antiques, playing Schofskoph (Sheephead) with friends and family, and his trips to Tama to visit the Casino. He was extremely proud of his service to his country during WWII and was a lifetime member of the American Legion. He had served the Denver American Legion Post as Commander, a post he was always very proud of and active in. Five years ago he moved to the Tripoli Nursing Home where he loved to call Bingo, visit, and of course tell his stories. He was a man of God, Country and Community and served all three to the best of his ability. Warner is survived by three children, Carolyn (Eugene) Redies, Frederika, Barbara Brase (Harley Wescott), Frederika, and Allen Droste (Judy Short), Denver; 19 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and by his former wife, Florine, Waverly. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, David; one son-in-law, Jerry Brase; one grandson, Tim Brase; and by his brother, Melvin Droste
